Men who cook are.....SEXY!!

The HUBBY cutting up the boiled Chicken...

Chicken burritos and EYE candy! I will take it, especially since the eye candy is my hubby! I love the fact that my husband is not embarassed about being in the kitchen, because I know some men that claim they would never be in the kitchen, let alone cook in one!! He does it with pride, and he loves it, but most of all he loves cooking together. On this night we made Chicken Burritos, Spanish Rice, Refried Beans and Homemade Tortillas! The tortillas were great and it was my husband's first time making them. I did help but he did most of the work and turns out, he can roll them out better than I can! I don't know if any of you have ever seen the movie "Like Water, For Chocolate," but in that movie when the girl who cooks is feeling a certain emotion, that transfers to her food. So when a person eats it, they feel that same emotion too! I believe that happens when my hubby and I cook together, our food just seems to taste so much better! CHEESY I know...or shall I say SPICY! I hope you enjoyed :) !!

Feelin' Madonna-ish!!!?

Madonna 80's Inspired!!
So recently I entered a contest for (ClaudettesMakeup) on Youtube and it was such a blast!! I take the time to view Youtube during the day to see what is new, stylish, for inspiration and for entertainment, of course!! Out here in Belgium, we can get cable from the UK or AFN which some of us know as Armed Forces Network. (BORING).. I truly enjoy watching Youtube and I just love being surrounded by great people on there. Even if you do not meet someone personally, it seems like they are truly your friend. Youtube has created such a neat network...and with that all said...I wanted to personally recognize Claudette from ClaudettesMakeup. She created a contest that was Madonna Inspired. I am so glad she challenged her subscribers on this because I feel like just putting the words "ENTER ME" in the post box is so impersonal, and I know, it is so easy to do! So by challenging her subscribers, she wanted us to make a video inspired by Madonna. How BRILLIANT! I went ahead and entered my video and it was such a blast looking at my husband's face when he noticed I was a BLAST FROM THE PAST (the 80's)...with a leather jacket, big earrings and leggings!! He really liked the look, but I don't think I will be sporting it for a while unless we of course plan an all 80's themed party! There's an idea..lol! So anyway, before I keep rambling on, I decided I would post some pics I took while doing this really fun video for a contest! And well, if I can figure out how, I will post the video below!! Enjoy!!

So I have been trying to do Zumba for an entire hour each day and let me tell you, my body is exhausted!!! Zumba is so much fun and energizing while doing it, but I get so tired..that is def not going to stop me!! For those who have never tried doing Zumba, I highly encourage you to because it is a dance workout where you can really choose your own pace. I workout at home with the Nintendo Wii and also at the gym, with two great instructors!! I love it so much that I purchased my very own workout shoes..from NIKE and they are amazing. Zumba is one of my passions and don't worry if you do not know how to latin dance because you will catch on in no time. Another thing I love about Zumba is that the music is great and for you mommies out there, it gives you a chance to leave your house and attend a dance party!! So get your water, sweat towel and gym shoes, because it's time to get your dance on!! I will be updating my weight loss progress right on here so if you are interested in that...keep reading!!
December: 8 lbs lost!

Feb: so far 2lbs lost!!!
I am super excited and can't wait to fit into my clothes again!!

My Special Valentine!!

I made a comment today on a video I watched on Youtube where I stated "that this day is just another day where retailers make money" and the more thought I put into it, the more I realized that this day means much more than that. Yes, some say that retailers bank off of holidays like these..and it is true..but today means a lot to those who are away from their loved ones. Those military men and women who are away from their spouses, fiances, boyfriends or girlfriends...wish they could just kiss and hug and say those three special words "I love you." This day means so much to me because I am not guaranteed a Valentine's Day with my husband next year. I am not sure where the Army will take us or my husband for that matter. All I know is that on Valentine's Day this year I will be holding, kissing, and loving my husband as much as I do any other day..because being in the military life, means you have to live each day and moment as if it were your last. My special Valentine is my husband, but this year I will also be thinking of every wife and husband holding their pillow tight, wishing and praying their spouse will be home safely. They won't care if they receive diamonds or chocolates, they care if they will be able to get a message from them on this day. Please think about all those lonely hearts out there, and cherish everyone who is near you. This day is dedicated to love and understanding. This day is dedicated to the love of my life Christopher, who I cherish for always. I love you.

Sleepless Nights...

So, before I and the family went on a trip to California, both my boys would sleep through the night..but now that is a completely different story. They had trouble adjusting in California because they were in an unfamiliar place and I thought it would pass but the whole three weeks, they were awake all night for the most part. We returned to Europe a week ago and I thought the jetlag had taken over..and it did, but now I am not sure what the reasoning is for their sleepless nights! So last night I decided with the help of the hubby, to completely separate them by moving my son's crib out of the room temporarily.....outcome....another sleepless night!!! I am not sure what is going on except maybe that my youngest son is teething so that would explain his irritability with life at the moment, but my other son is compelled to play all hours of the night...any suggestions anyone?? I am up at 6am with my youngest since he wakes up every 2 hours...oh how I long for my pillow and blanket these days!  But, all in all, I love my little beans and this is what motherhood is all about. Every sleepless moment is worth it because throughout the day I am reminded at how blessed I am to see their smiles and hear their laughs as we joke around all day! Mommy and Daddy are tired these days but we are doing this together so that is all that counts. I love my little beans <3

Golden Images

While in California this past month, I was very lucky to have met a man by the name of Abel Sanchez. Abel is my husband's father's best friend since they were very young. He would take pictures of my husband's family for years!! He has amazing talent and a big heart! I was just happy to meet him after hearing so many great stories about him and his lifelong work, photography. I love taking pictures everywhere I go and I am not anywhere as talented as this man. When we were in California, my husband wanted to reconnect with him, so we went for a photoshoot in the beautiful city of Redwood, CA. We spent time in several locations outside with amazing backgrounds. I loved hearing stories of my husband's father as he is no longer with us. I feel like it is a step closer in getting to know my father-in-law. So the day was quite rainy prior to going to the photoshoot and it was our last opportunity to take pictures with Abel because we were leaving to Europe the next day, but when we arrived...the sun had come out and it stopped raining! It was so amazing how that worked out!! All in all, I loved the experience and it was our very first family photoshoot, and I feel blessed Abel Sanchez was our photographer. Turkey and Avocado!!

So recently, my husband and my family were in California visiting and we went to TOGO's!! This place has amazing sandwiches at reasonable prices. I would pick TOGO's over Subway any day! So we returned to Belgium and I was craving another TOGO's turkey and avocado sandwich...which is disappointing because they do not have that out here! ugh. So my husband decided he would recreate the sandwich in our kitchen, and let me tell you...it was AMAZING!!! It was very healthy as well...which is great because we are trying to change our eating habits. So if you would love the recipe...here it is...

2 pieces of whole wheat bread
Light Mayo..only enough to spread a light coating
Light Mustard
2 slices of 2% American Cheese (deli)
1/4 of an avocado
3 pieces of sliced turkey (deli)
1/2 tomatoe

So put this together and you will not feel guilty for eating it. It is quite filling as whole wheat makes you feel full faster and for a longer period of time! Drink some coke zero...for carbonation or some crystal light and you are def good to go!! ENJOY!!!
I know I did!!

My first blog post!!

I created this blogspot in order to share information with you about my adventures as an army wife and mother. I started staying home to raise my children when my husband was stationed overseas. I am stationed along with him in Belgium, and let me tell you, it has been adventurous!! I have had much time to think over what I want to do for the rest of my life, but for now I enjoy the simplicity of it all. I wake up each day happier than the next but it took time to get to this place. It was not that easy at first to be living in a foreign country but I had to adjust. I will talk more about that later. So the purpose of this page is to help any military family member out there who is going through the same experiences as me or about to start the life in the military, whether a spouse or a dependent. I would also extend my knowledge to those who are active military as well because that is challenging in itself. I love to help anyone who wants it. I will be posting as much as I can, about my thoughts, ideas, and adventures. I love cooking and creating recipes, taking pictures, and making vids on youtube..this has allowed me to reach out to more people. So thank you for viewing my first post and thank you for your support!! hugs!
